Frequency Asked Questions

What services to you offer?

  • Individual therapy

    • I provide individual therapy for those navigating a variety of life challenges—whether it's adolescence, young adulthood, or the transition to parenthood. My approach is client-centered, compassionate, and tailored to meet your unique needs. Together, we can address issues such as managing stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity shifts, and relational challenges.

    • I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences, gain clarity, and work toward meaningful growth and healing.

  • Group therapy

    • I also offer group therapy support through my Surviving Modern Motherhood group, which is designed to help moms navigate the challenges of contemporary parenthood. Together, we engage in guided discussions, share educational insights, and provide peer support as we explore topics such as self-care, boundary-setting, managing overwhelm, and fostering meaningful connections. This group offers a safe, judgment-free space to share your experiences, gain practical tools, and build a supportive community of moms who truly understand your journey.

  • Couples Support - Fair Play Method

    • The Fair Play Method is a system designed to help couples divide household tasks and caregiving responsibilities fairly. In therapy, I help couples identify their needs, clarify roles, and implement the method using the CPE (Conception, Planning, Execution) framework. This typically involves around six sessions.

How would you describe your approach and therapy style?

My approach is client-centered, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. My style is collaborative—I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to guide and support you in achieving your goals.

I draw from various evidence-based approaches, including attachment theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and relational therapy. Attachment theory helps us understand how early relationships shape current patterns in connection, trust, and emotional well-being. ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility, helping you align your actions with your values, even in the face of difficult emotions. Whether you're navigating life transitions, managing stress, or seeking greater self-awareness, I work to meet you where you are and support you on your journey toward growth, connection, and healing.

What does it mean to be a mother-centric therapist?

As a mother-centric therapist, I prioritize the needs, experiences, and identity of mothers in my practice. Motherhood is often treated as secondary to other roles, but I believe the mother’s well-being is foundational to her family and community. My approach emphasizes holding space for the complexities of motherhood—its joys and its struggles—while also challenging societal expectations that can lead to guilt and burnout. My goal is to help mothers feel seen, supported, and empowered to define motherhood on their own terms.

Do you work with clients virtually or in person?

I offer both in-person and virtual sessions to California residents. Please contact me to discuss which option works best for you.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider for details.

What can I expect during my first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any concerns or challenges you’re currently facing. This session also allows us to explore whether we’re a good fit and gives you a chance to ask questions about my approach or therapy in general. My goal is to ensure you feel comfortable and supported as we begin this process.

Can I bring up anything in therapy?

Absolutely. Therapy is your space, and there are no “off-limits” topics. Whether you want to discuss major life events or smaller everyday stressors, I’m here to listen and support you.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment through my website's contact page or by emailing me directly. If you're a new client, I’ll arrange a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and how I can support you.

Do you offer workshops or presentations?

Yes! I lead workshops and presentations for various audiences, including parents and professionals. Topics include maternal mental health, Fair Play, navigating transitions, and more. Contact me for inquiries about hosting or attending a workshop.
